Most of us live a very busy lifestyle and don’t have enough time in the day to prepare healthy nutritious meals. That is why we often settle for the most convenient option, and that can often end up being fast food or meals that are loaded with nasty high-processed ingredients. As our leading lady Lorna Jane Clarkson always says, being healthy doesn’t need to be hard! It just requires some motivation and drive to feed your body with food to thrive!
One of the quickest and easiest meals to make is toast. There are so many different delicious toppings to match your taste! Bread can also be a great source of complex carbohydrate, just make sure that it is nutritiously dense. We used Spring Wholefoods sprouted seed bread for added whole food goodness and to keep us fuller for longer!
Try these tasty toast recipes ideal for any meal of the day:
Take two slices of bread and toast till golden brown. Top with smoked salmon, dill cashew cheese, sauerkraut or radishes, fresh herbs and squeeze of lemon.
On two slices of toasted bread, spread a generous amount of organic tahini, then lightly spread some natural strawberry jam. This combo is perfect to curb a sweet tooth!
Avocado has so many health benefits and is a great addition to a balanced diet. The classic smashed avocado on toast can sometimes seem boring however, to re-create this meal try adding a sliced boiled egg, fresh tomato slices with chilli flakes or even some fresh deli meat.
Lightly toast two slices of Spring Wholefoods Banana and Buckwheat Sprouted Seed Bread. Top with natural Greek yoghurt, fresh berries and a drizzle of honey.
Peanut Butter and Banana
The humble peanut butter and banana combo has always been a household favourite. Make sure to use a brand of peanut butter that is natural containing only fresh nuts and salt. After toasting bread, spread peanut butter and add chopped banana slices. To finish drizzle some honey, sprinkle ground cinnamon and top with shredded coconut.
So there you have it, five easy to make meal ideas that can be eaten for a healthy breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack!
