Each month on the Active Living Program we feature amazing Cardio, Strength and Stretch Trainers.
Here on MNB’s ‘Meet Your Trainer’ series, we’ll introduce your trainers each month so you can get to know a little more about them.
This month, we have the fantastic Lilly Sabri from Lean with Lilly (@lillysabri) taking you through your strength practice. We know that you’ll love her workouts and training with her! x
How long have you been a trainer?
I graduated from University with my BSc in Physiotherapy 8 years ago. Since then, I have continued my study in a vast array of specialist fields from Pilates to Acupuncture.
I couple together my Physiotherapy knowledge with my experience in teaching classes and working with professional athletes, to ensure that all of the exercise I provide concentrate on correct form and muscle activation. Allowing my followers to not only get the results they want, but also remain injury free!
A lot of my workouts concentrate on correct core activation, which I believe is an area that is sometimes misunderstood and under worked. It not just about the sexy flat stomach and abs (although that is an added bonus!) we need to consider pelvic floor, core activation and women’s health related areas too!
What inspired you to become a trainer?
I initially chose to study physiotherapy for one reason alone, I couldn’t stand to see people in pain and to feel helpless. After being a national level swimmer in my teenage years and having a series of Physiotherapy for injuries, I soon fell in love with the discipline.
On graduating I started working in the NHS and soon progressed to working in professional football (soccer). It was at this point that I started to widen my knowledge, training in different specialist fields of rehab and Pilates.
I then set up my own classes and fell in love with teaching. There is no better feeling than inspiring being to make positive lifestyle changes to both improve their wellness and happiness.
What excites you the most about the Active Living Program?
To be able to motivate and inspire more women around the world to be healthier and happier by joining such a beautiful community of strong, inspiring women.
