So your childhood dream of touring the world as a ballerina hasn’t quite worked out (yet). That’s ok, a starring role in Swan Lake may not be a part of your life’s plan, but we know plenty of other greatness is. To help you get just a little bit closer to the big stage, we’ve teamed up with our fit friend and Barre expert Kira Elste who will lead you through this invigorating 5 minute Energy Barre Workout.
Barre is based on the exercises that ballerinas use to keep their bodies strong, long and lean. Traditionally, dancers hold on to a wooden bar (from the French word “Barre”) as they work through the moves, which gives them balance and stability. For working out at home, a simple chair is your perfect Barre companion. The “Barre” should offer light support & balance as you plié and pirouette through the routine, but should not take your full weight.
So what are you waiting for you graceful thing, you? Pull up a chair, and prepare to reset, re-focus, and re-invigorate your body and mind.
Congratulations, you totally raised the barre with that workout. Love it and want to keep moving with Kira for more Barre and Pilates workout fun? You bet you do.
