It’s time to take a moment or two to devote a bucket load of thankfulness toward my sensational, multifaceted workmates!
There are many things to be grateful for when it comes to my job, like the fact that I have one for starters haha, but what really puts a spring in my step is knowing that when I walk in the door each day, I have the blessings of amazing and intelligent people surrounding me.
Studies show that having people you care and connect with at work is a key contributor to satisfaction and engagement in the organisation. How could it not be when we as human beings are such social creatures that need some level of closeness and rapport with others?
I am super passionate about my role as an MNB Ambassador. I love writing, I love connecting with our readers, and most importantly I love that behind everything I do holds such a significant message. What truly enriches my time at work and brings excitement to my days is knowing I have such quirky, funny and down to earth bunch of colleagues to share the LJ journey with and who (like me) share the exact same passions; INSPIRING you (yes you) to live your best life and embrace a life of health & wellness.
The more I think about it, we have a very rare and remarkable dynamic within our workplace where the number of women trump men, and yet, with so much estrogen filling the building, it is so incredible to feel and see just how genuinely close-knit and loving we all are towards one another. We truly are like a family (and rightly so considering the amount of time we spend with one another).
What weaves us together has not only come through sharing the same health, fitness and general wellbeing values in life, but taking the time to get to know each other, asking questions, seeking advice and knowledge from one another. Because of that, I find that we are more than colleagues; we are each others daily dose of encouragement and support, helping to build each other up so we can live our best life too.
If you dread going to work, use this Thankful Thursday to empower you to build a rapport with your fellow colleagues. Be the difference in your day and make the effort to:
- Step out by making an effort to always acknowledge the people around you.
- Spark conversation and aim to learn something new about a person that you work with each day.
- Take any chance you can to say thanks… ”Thanks for supporting me,” “thanks for opening the door”, “thanks for your positive, chirpy attitude,” “thanks for listening”, “thanks for your contribution”, “thanks for your constructive criticism”, “thanks for the opportunity”. There is ALWAYS something to be thankful for and if you feel it, share it!
- Most importantly SMILE! A simple facial movement can change atmospheres and evaporate bitterness.
Take these tips and try to spread some love and light within your workplace each day, and let others know their value to you. Don’t assume they know because the truth is… Everyone LOVES and THRIVES off knowing they are valued, and when they do, I bet productivity in everyone will improve too.
Mantra: Be the type of person that YOU want to work with smile
Much Love, Bec xx
