Hi there MNB’ers!
We all know the powerful affect that positive thinking and thankfulness can evoke, not only for you but for others too.The reason why I invest in posting a Thankful Thursday each week is to ensure we stay grounded and hopeful, and to encourage you all to keep holding onto those happy beams of light, even when they start to dwindle.
I believe that one of the main reasons we become ungrateful or complacent is when we lose our enthusiasm for the little things. Allowing the things that were once miracles become common to us. And when this happens, we fall accustomed to all the goodness and blessings that just becomes second nature.
So for this particularly special Thursday, I thought it would be fun to send out a question on my (@becronald) Instagram to ask: What simple, quirky or darn right outrageous things make your heart gleeful?
I invited all of my fellow Sporty Sisters to share their reasoning’s as to why they are thankful – all in the hope to motivate YOU, removing the scales from your eyes so you can see your beautiful and blessed life for what it is, and appreciate all things, big and small.
At the end of the day, we want to better ourselves and to do so we need a grateful heart, as it will bestow a reverence that changes how we experience life and the world. So please, let the words from your positive pals of the sisterhood serve as a reminder to seek out “thankfulness” in your day-to-day life and let’s continue to live abundantly.
Here’s my reason for my gleeful spirit:)
There’s a quote in one of my favourite books, ‘Little Women’ that goes – “If you feel your value lies in being merely decorative… someday you might find yourself believing that’s all that you really are. Time erodes all such beauty but what it cannot diminish is the wonderful workings of your mind.”
Like every girl, sometimes I have to remind myself, life’s not a competition. It’s about learning… (and as a pre service teacher that’s something I love to do!) It’s about learning to love yourself and your life. I wake up with a gleeful spirit every day because I know there’s something new and exciting to be learnt about. You’ve got to love yourself, love learning and live the LJ way of life! Muscles = power. Knowledge = power. Combine the two and you’ll be one mean, green, sporty sister machine!

Dear Sporty Sisters,
Every morning I open my eyes and I am overwhelmed with choices. I have a choice when and how I will move my body. Whether it will be a run by the river, hot yoga or a weights session, it is entirely up to me. I look into my closet, and I get to choose between a variety of bright, beautifully made clothes which will make me feel comfortable and beautiful while I’m moving my body. I open my fridge, and a variety of fresh, nourishing and organic produce is at my fingertips. Do I feel like making a green smoothie? Or maybe some oats with almond milk topped with strawberries and bananas? It’s entirely up to me! Every day I get to choose who I will share my time, ideas and dreams with, and which of my wonderful friends and family will I have a pleasure to learn from.
Every day I remind myself of how much freedom those choices give me and how incredibly lucky I am to be able to make my own choice, freely and with no restrictions. That is, in my opinion, a priceless gift.”

Hello,
There are three things in life that I am truly thankful for. These are the things that motivate me to wake up in the morning and try my best.
Firstly, I am thankful for my body that cooperates with me in my daily adventures, even when I torment it so much I can barely move the next day!
The next is my friends and family who are always there for me and make life enjoyable! Whether it be hassling Mum to substitute rice with quinoa, or ripping my friend out of bed before sunlight to practice yoga (which typically ends in hysterically falling flat on our faces).
The last thing is all of the inspirational people out there who constantly remind me that there are plenty of things to be thankful for, rather than dwelling on the negatives. With all of these things it is impossible to be unhappy, they keep me grounded and help me live my best life and reach my goals.

It’s the simple things.
Noticing the small details that often go a miss in life brings me the greatest joy. They are what I am thankful for, every day.
Feeling the cold rush of winter mist over my face during an early run, or the sour taste of rhubarb with my warm oats. From dawn till dusk there are moments in time where I stop and think how lucky I am to be living, right here, right now. To be sitting in the sun, soaking up vitamin D or to be drinking hot honey tea listening to the waves crash in. Every second something happens that I know I can be thankful for. By far the greatest notion that I am thankful for is the unbelievable love God, my Father, has for me. This makes me thankful for everything and compels my heart to sing.

Hi MNB,
I am thankful for life itself! Thankful for the freedom to have choices and the heart to believe I can do it!

Hey Lorna Jane and team
I am Scottish and have lived in beautiful Brisbane for 17 months now and I am thankful for that opportunity every day.
I am thankful my wonderful husband encouraged me to make the move!
I am thankful to all the wonderful welcoming people we’ve met!
I am thankful for the new lifestyle we’ve embraced since we moved here;active, healthy and happy (or move, nourish, believe as someone once said)
I am thankful that I’ve been able to open my eyes to the fact that each new day gives us the opportunity to be brave, take chances and make decisions to make it better than the last!
Yours gratefully

Hello,
I am thankful for yoga. I am thankful for its lack of competition and the way I feel after I practice. I always feel so refreshed after yoga. I am thankful that after a practice that challenges the whole body with core poses like boat pose, plank and chaturanga; arm strengtheners like handstand and crow; and leg burners like chair pose, warrior I and II and parsvakonasana, I can then say thank you to my body with savasana (relaxation) at the end of class. Lastly, I am thankful that I get to share my practice and my progress with people through the #lornajane hash tag. Thank you for continuing to inspire women all over the world to move, nourish and believe.
