Feeling fresh and having overcome (just) the holiday haze, we feel like we’ve finally gotten our groove back (thanks Stella) and are amped and ready to put our 2014 plans into action. Part and parcel of this revved up motivation is some holiday enlightenment and the goal to be more “present” in the New Year. We got to thinking whilst on break, and if there is one lesson we can take from our 14-day hiatus was this, solitude is bliss.
Whizzing through the whirlwind of crazy deadlines, and mile long to-do lists, the last couple of months of the year can really get you where it hurts. Sometimes you can feel down right, exhausted, burnt out and starved of some good ol’ relaxation. When we’re busy, rushing through life, we forget about the most special person in our life. Ourselves. And with this slight neglect, we also forgot to tune into our mind.
As we clock over to a New Year, now is the perfect time for putting plans into action. And in order to set goals, learn about yourself, dig a little deeper, live bolder, seek clarity, and make a change, it’s so important to turn inward. Step away from the noise, the distractions, clutter and step into your happy place. Somewhere you can listen to your true hearts desire and be at peace.
In the quietness of your own thoughts, you may seek the answers you’ve been longing for.
- BIG, brilliant ideas may boil to the surface.
- Thoughts and feelings that were buried amongst the chaos may become awakened.
- A fresh perspective on a situation may finally be resolved.
Truth be told… There is beauty in solitude. There is truth in solitude. Allow yourself to break free and feel it. It doesn’t have to be a lonely place, or a scary place. Make it an enlightened place. For each individual that experiences “me time”, there will always be a different outcome. We gave it a good dig and by doing so, unearthed 7 seriously sweet, soulful lessons…
When are you ever alone with your thoughts? No technology, with zero distractions. There is so much peacefulness and growth that comes from sifting through your mind, switching off and tuning into your thoughts. Give it a try and feel the strong currents of wisdom that flow through your body.
That big “Uh ha” moment can be hurried along with some quiet contemplation. The best ideas are never forced, they seem to pop up when you least expect it or in moments of pure relaxation. Let your illumination come naturally, and be ready to grasp it. Taking a journal with you on your sweet solitude hangs is always a bright idea.
Be ready for anything, and dig deeper by embracing some sweet solitude. Tuning into you is the best way to learn, grow and pave your way to greatness.
Now your turn!
Find a space, find your place, and just sit and relax.
Take some time this weekend to find a peaceful place and practice some sweet solitude.
Be sure to let us know what you uncovered. Clarity? Peace? Enlightenment? The whole lot?
Spill the beans!
