It’s me, Lauryn from The Skinny Confidential again.
Let’s switch it up today and talk skin. So skin is IN. I’m calling it now but 2018 will be ALLLL about taking care of your skin.
Prevention is essential in skincare. Start taking care of it now and feel better later. I am huge fan of giving my skin a lot of tender love and care everyday.
Over the years I’ve picked up some skincare and beauty tips to keep your skin all glow-y, plump and fresh at all times.
The Skinny Confidential’s
GLOWING SKIN SECRETS:
- OILS- if you’re not using oils on your skin yet, get on board. You can use oils for everything. They’re cheap, hydrate your skin and are natural. You can use oils to remove makeup, moisturize, fight wrinkles, soften hair and for overall skin health. If you’re traveling, just ask the hotel for some olive oil. It’s my go-to.
Some other magical oils include:
- FACIAL MASSAGE – I’m pretty sure it’s my life mission to get everyone into facial massage. This has been a GAME-CHANGER for my makeup and skincare routine. Literally my face CRAVES it at least twice a day. Start your morning with facial massage and then use an ice roller. It will de-puff and de-bloat your face like no other.
- CAFFEINATED SUNSCREEN – sunscreen is essential. I avoid staying out of the sun as much as possible. So no matter what you do – wear SPF everyday. Now, if you really want to step it up use caffeine sunscreen. I’ve been using this everyday, every second lately because the caffeine tightens my skin BIG TIME- love a quick facelift, LOL. Use it as a primer for makeup and you’ll be set.
- HIGHLIGHTER – to keep your eyes bright and teeth white add highlighter to your makeup routine. Use silver based highlighter to really bring out white tones. If you want some body shimmer go for gold tones. Add the silver to the inner corners of your eyes and a little on the v above your lip. It’s a simple tip that makes a huge difference.
Another beauty tip? HYDRATION, duh! We all know this but it’s especially important this holiday season. I mean hangovers are a thing. Especially during the holidays.
Make sure you’re drinking 1/2 your bodyweight in water, more if you’re drinking booze. I love to do vodka waters with four lemons – it’s my favorite during holiday parties. I throw in some pomegranate seeds too to keep it festive.
