7 Inspirational Women We Love

When it comes to inspiring women, we like to think we hit the jackpot every single day. When we see someone proudly wearing her uniquely Lorna Jane down the street, at the gym or on the gram’ #inmyactivewear, it gives us all the feels. None of it would be possible without one woman, the one and only (and ever-inspiring) Lorna Jane Clarkson, and we’re not shy to scream it from our soapbox. So since we’re oozing all kinds of adoration, and can’t keep it to ourselves, we want to share with you who the other special ladies are in our inspiration station, our top 7 inspiring women we love…

Why we love her:

She doesn’t just inspire those on her home turf of Australia, Lorna sprinkles inspiration upon women right around the globe. From pursuing their passions, embracing wellness, and chasing their wildest dreams, Lorna is living proof that if you’re unshakeably passionate about something, no matter where you come from, there is nothing stopping you but you.

Favourite quote:

“You can always spot the strong women. They’re the ones who work hard and spread empowerment by building each other up instead of tearing one another down. May we always stand together proudly and build a brighter future for everyone. Never, never give up!”

Why we love her:

Last year if you asked the racing industry, “Has there ever been a female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup?” the answer would have been no. But Michelle Payne is the first woman who has ever in the history of racing won the race that literally stopped the nation at Flemmington race course last week. We’re not sure how we feel about horse racing but we sure know how we feel about the powerful sentiment Michelle brings to an industry that’s been long dominated by one gender.

Favourite quote:

“I want to say to everyone else, get stuffed, because they think women aren’t strong enough but we just beat the world.”

Why we love her:

Emma had the entire world as her stage when she gave one of the most powerful gender equality speeches at the United Nation Headquarters last year. Not only is she a Goodwill ambassador for UN women, this young leading lady is only a mere 24 years of age. An incredible actress, speaker, well articulated, beautiful beyond her looks, honest, brave, intelligent and with one of the most inspiring alter egos to boot (we love you Hermoine) Emma Watson is the voice of a whole new generation of young women looking to embrace feminism in a brand new light.

Favourite quote:

“If you truly pour your heart into what you believe in, even if it makes you feel vulnerable, amazing things can and will happen”

Why we love her:

The utmost achiever of everything, Lisa’s resume reads a little like this: founder and editor-in-chief of The Collective, author, magazine publisher, rule breaker, and creative director of The Messenger Group. With an entrepreneurial attitude that even Sir Richard Branson finds infectious, Lisa’s laundry list of a achievements and milestones has inspired women everywhere to show them that no matter what your attitude or disposition you can embrace every side of yourself and achieve more than you ever imagined.

Favourite quote:

“You can be soft and successful, a traditionalist and a rebel, a lover and a fighter, vulnerable and invincible”

Why we love her:

Lorna once said, “Activewear isn’t going to change the world. The women who wear it will”. We couldn’t pair this passage more perfectly with anyone else. When we first featured her story, we were stopped in our tracks. Born with a rare degenerative disease that had claimed her vision by the time she was 27, she hasn’t let her sights stop her from living the active life she loves.

Favourite quote:

“Life isn’t always easy but you always have a choice and you can get through the hard times. I think being active can really help with that, I believe it 100% and being active keeps you positive and the easier you interact with other people, it all helps.”

Why we love her:

A life dedicated to educating others is a selfless one indeed. Dr. Libby is one passionate PhD pep-talker. Since finishing 14 years at university studying nutrition, dietetics and biochemistry, Dr Libby has gone on to shake the world, inspiring and educating women by enhancing their health and happiness. She above all is passionate about how we live our busy lives, and has an extraordinary ability to breakdown complex concepts we may not understand so we can look after our beautiful bodies. After all, we’ve only got one, we should look after it as best we can.

Favourite quote:

“The parts of your body that frustrate sadden or you are simply messengers asking you to eat, drink, move, think, believe, or perceive in a new way. See them as the gift that they are.”

Why we love her:

Hormones are sometimes a frustrating and exhausting experience that we feel we never have the answer to. Nat is a significant advocate for women’s health and fertility as a doctor in Chinese medicine, acupuncturist, author, speaker and all-round natural fertility expert. Hormones are not a one size fits all approach and we love Nat’s philosophy to such a sensitive topic. A fabulously fearless female, with one thing on her agenda. Your health.

Favourite quote:

“I make women’s hormones happier than a Pharrell Williams song”
