Even though yoga has been around a LONG time (like, almost forever) there’s no shortage of new styles or classes to try. These are the yoga styles we’re loving right now.
Doga
Of course yoga with dogs is first on the list. How could it not be?!
In Doga, your pooch is your partner and you move through poses and stretches together. Aside from being ridiculously adorable, it’s a great way to; strengthen your bond with your pup, destress by calming your mind and nervous system and, you get to spend more quality time together.
There are even additional benefits for your dog! They get to socialise with other “dogis”, practice positive behavioural training in a fun way AND don’t forget, their health will also benefit from the all of the stretching!
Goat Yoga
Yep, more animals (sorry not sorry). Our Retail Leadership team tried and tested Goat Yoga first hand at our last conference, and we picked up some great tips from them (No. 1 tip, don’t take your favourite shoes because you may end up with poo on, or in 1 case, IN them.)
Unlike Doga, the goats don’t work with you. They’re generally more interested in jumping on you. They’re not cooperative in the slightest, but they are super cute.
You’ll spend most of the class playing with the goats and taking selfies than doing actual yoga – but we’re fine with that.
Aerial Yoga
Wrap yourself into a silky cocoon of goodness and break out your inner Cirque du Soleil in an Aerial Yoga class.
It might take a few minutes but it won’t take long to get your confidence and coordination sorted and you’ll be flipping around like a pro. Aerial Yoga is an amazing full body workout that will work muscles you don’t even realise you have! It’s also great to help with any back issues, improve your flexibility (and balance) and helps send fresh blood and oxygen to your brain. Tried and tested by team MNB, check out the verdict here!
Voga
This style is not so wide spread but as soon as we read about it, we knew we wanted to give it a go. Voga is the fusion of yoga and … yep, Voguing.
Described as the haute couture of fitness, blending stylised, expressive dance and with yoga this high energy (and high fashion) take on the practice is definitely one to try! Tap into your Madonna vibe and express yourself girl!
