They don’t call our spine our backbone for nothing! A strong and limber spine helps create an able and functional body – something we all need to get through the tasks our busy days demand of us.
In this video, Patty Perlman of Mana Yoga Retreats teaches us the Spinal Seven; seven moves you can do morning, day and night to prepare your body for the day ahead and to unwind and reset before bed.
These stretches are perfect to do before a long day of travel or sitting behind a laptop; you’ll feel more space in your body and they only take a few short minutes!
- Hold each pose for at least 10 breaths
- Ensure you’re not experiencing pain while completing these moves. A little discomfort is normal, pain isn’t. Gently come out of the stretch if you start to feel any pain
- Try setting a reminder on your phone to ensure you remember to complete these stretches each day
