Recipe of the Week: Chicken Kebabs & Tahini Satay Sauce

We are loving eating clean at the moment, and one big thing we find that makes a huge difference is seasoning your protein. A common misconception when eating clean is that everything has to be plain and boring. This is simply not the case. Eating clean is delicious, and easy. You just have to approach it the right way. 

It’s important to be aware of what kind of sauces you are using to marinate your protein. Why? Because most condiments are full of sodium or sugar! That is why we just LOVE using spices in our cooking. Not only do they add flavour – but many have powerful medicinal and health properties!

In this clean Chicken Kebab & Tahini Sauce recipe we take full advantage of the bursting flavours and natural goodness of herbs & spices. It is a dish that the whole family will just love, and you can mix it up by having it with a superfood salad for lunch or roast vegies at dinner.

Nourishing Notes: 
  • When choosing tahini, it does not matter if you use hulled or unhulled, there is a slight taste difference, but nothing that affects recipes.  Hulled just means the husk has been removed from the sesame seed, whereas unhulled means the husk is still intact.  Some people say that unhulled is more of a ‘wholefood’s option, whereas others say that the husk is inedible and unable to be digested so it is better removed.
  • Turmeric is one of the most powerful foods on earth as it has been found to assist and prevent cancer, diabetes, infection, arthritis and other inflammatory disorders, including Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
