Four epic smoothie toppings

It’s no secret that when you’re total healthnuts like us, you have a crazily close relationship with your morning smoothie. On the go, in a bowl, go go green or berry blast – pre and post work out nourishment never tasted so good. What’s not to love when you can have dessert, a meal or a cold snack in one precious vehicle? When a serving can have so much nutrition from greens and veggies plus a few super foods and still taste like dessert, it’s the ultimate healthy hack. But if you’re wanting to take your brekky smoothie to the next lev, it’s all in what you arrange on the top! From crunchy chia to creamy coconut – we’ve got a topping to suit any taste!

Chia crumble

You will need: 1/2 cup cacao nibs, 1/2 tablespoon chia seeds & 5 pitted dates.

Let’s make it: blend all ingredients together in a food processor or roughly chop and sprinkle on top of your smoothie.

Goes great with: a nutty peanut butter smoothie.

Coco-nut combo

You will need: 1/3 cup whipped coconut cream, 1 teaspoon coconut flakes, 1 teaspoon almond meal & 1 teaspoon LSA mix.

Let’s make it: combine all ingredients together and sprinkle on top of your smoothie.

Goes great with: a cinnamon banana smoothie.

Superfood mix

You will need: 1 teaspoon of buckinis, 1 teaspoon bee pollen, 1 teaspoon chia seeds & 1 handful of goji berries.

Let’s make it: sprinkle all ingredients on top of your smoothie of choice.

Goes great with: a fresh and green smoothie.

Nutty sprinkle

You will need: 1 tablespoon slivered almonds, 1 tablespoon puffed millet, 1/2 teaspoon white chia seeds & 1 teaspoon pepitas.

Let’s make it: sprinkle all ingredients on top of your smoothie of choice.

Goes great with: a mixed berry smoothie.

Brekky medley + spiced blueberry smoothie

For the topping: 1 tablespoon granola, 1 teaspoon toasted coconut, 1/3 sliced fresh banana & 1 handful of blueberries.

For the smoothie: 2 cups frozen blueberries, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 frozen banana, 2 tablespoons chia seeds, 2 cups (500mL) almond milk & 1/2 cup crushed ice.

Let’s make it: Blend all smoothie ingredients together in blender and pour into glass jar. Sprinkle topping ingredients on top.
