Pick of the Week: Chia Seeds & why we LOVE them!

Chia whaaat? Chia seeds, or (Salvia hispanica) are the highest known plant source of Omega-3 with 8 times more than salmon! Chia seeds are currently the talk of the town [the healthy town that is]. This is because they are the richest plant based source of Omega 3, dietary fibre, protein and antioxidants. Now can you see how these tiny seeds should be a big part of your everyday diet?

REASON # 1:  HIGH SOURCE OF OMEGA 3 FATTY ACIDS:

Chia seeds are the highest natural source of Omega 3 fatty acids known to man (60-64%). If you don’t know what Omega 3 is, they are ‘essential’ fatty acids which the body needs for survival however our body can’t produce it on its own. Omega 3’s help reduce inflammation and aid in blood sugar and insulin regulation.  Science also tells us they may assist in the prevention of heart disease, arthritis and cancer.
