There a lot of perks to working at Lorna Jane (wearing activewear to work, taking squat breaks instead of coffee breaks and working alongside our fearless leader Lorna Jane Clarkson everyday), but spending the day hanging out with Bree Warren definitely took a ‘just another day in the office’ to the next level. Meeting this beguiling beauty was definitely one of those pinch yourself moments, but it wasn’t because of her fame. We’ve always been in awe of everything this fearless woman represents… strength, femininity, health, confidence, happiness, determination, hard work and kindness, and meeting her in the flesh definitely didn’t disappoint. She is the epitome of what it means to be a Lorna Jane girl, and we wanted to know more! So meet game changer, Bree Warren!
Motto/mantra you live by?
If there’s no way…create one.
I’m a Lorna Jane Girl because?
We are all LJ girls – no matter your shape, size or fitness. It’s about confidence!
What does the term game changer mean to you?
It’s refreshing. It means carving your own path and doing something different.
What does being a game changer mean to you?
I’m so grateful to be in this position and to have the career that I do. I love what my job and my body represents. I feel like the market is really opening up to a new wave of models that are bringing diversity. I know that to some people at home I am not really that much different but I am still considered a plus size model and I am quite few sizes bigger than the average model. The fact that I am here is a step in the right direction!
What mark/imprint do you want to leave on the world?
I want young girls and women to know that everyone’s shapes and sizes are unique. I want them to see more than one size represented in fashion and media. I really hope that I can be the relatable middle ground between the super tiny models of the past and the diversity that I hope we will see in years to come. The world is changing, fashion should too.
What advice would you give to women who want to make change?
Take the risk and go for it! Be optimistic and work hard.
What was your biggest highlight from shoot day?
Shooting on the roof in Hollywood opposite the Walk of Fame. It was a little bit surreal because I have grown up with Lorna Jane and I never expected to be a model let alone shooting the campaign in LA!
What are your favourite pieces from the March collection and why?
LJ nailed the crop tops (sports bras?)! They obviously look good but I couldn’t get over the fit. Perfectly padded and secure at the same time.
Where’s the most unconventional place you’ve ever worn your activewear?
Haha there’s no such thing! Activewear is a totally acceptable option these days. I’ve worn a black sports bra under a sheer top to an event and tights to a casting.
What is the most important message you want to share with the Lorna Jane sisterhood?
Support each other. Social media has changed the landscape and I think the most important thing to take from it is to be yourself and be nice. Good vibes go a long way.
