Jordan on; Yoga, Wellness & Living a High Vibe Lifestyle



After leading our Active Nation Day yoga class in Santa Monica, we caught up with The Balanced Blonde, Jordan Younger to get an insight into what a day in the life of a yogi/blogger/author/wellness advocate looks like and we find out what a ‘High Vibe’ lifestyle is all about.





How would your friends and family describe you in 3 words?

Creative, Spiritual, & Goofy


What does a ‘day in the life’ of Jordan look like?

A day in the life includes my morning Bulletproof coffee (my obsession!) and my daily meditation, kundalini, breath work and journaling practice. Afterward, I do a lot of writing (for the blog, and for my new newsletter Spirit Juice) and I plan for upcoming yoga classes and retreats. Later in the afternoon, I usually have a couple of meetings, an interview for my podcast, a photo shoot or a brainstorming session. Then I take a yoga class, go on an evening walk with one of my besties, and ideally cuddle up with my love and my kitty and make a healthy dinner with them! See why my family calls me creative?! My whole day thrives off of being creatively stimulated, and I love it that way.


What does ‘wellness’ mean to you?

To me, wellness means living a full-blown healthy lifestyle. It’s not about going to the extremes to look or feel a certain way, but rather listening to your body and creating a consistent, daily ritual of taking care of yourself through healthy food, exercise, hydration, good sleep and good vibes. There are no quick fixes in wellness, and when you start listening to someone else instead of your own inner knowing… then you may fall out of balance. Stay in your own lane and be kind to yourself.


What is a ‘high vibe’ lifestyle?

Oooh, my favorite question. A high vibe lifestyle is all about frequency. Are you spending time with people who lift you up? Are you doing things that make you happy, and eating things that make you feel good? How do you spend your free time? Ultimately, a high vibe life means that you are living on a higher frequency, by choosing to see love instead of fear, and choosing to focus on the good. Everything we do is a reflection of our vibration, so beginning to live a high vibe life can take some fine-tuning at first. Some great ways to boost your vibes are practicing yoga, laughing with people you love, and starting a new project that sets your soul on fire.


What brought you to yoga? When did you start practising? 

I started practicing when I was 15 years old because a doctor recommended it to me for back pain. From there, I fell madly in love with the practice and never looked back. To me, yoga is now a lifestyle and the way I choose to live my everyday life versus simply practicing yoga on the mat. It’s a practice of self-love, loving others, non-judgement, and non-harm. Yoga is like therapy to me in every way, and getting on a mat always feels like coming home.


What do you love most about yoga?

I love how it has shaped my life. The physical practice is beautiful and makes my body feel so good, but on a deeper level yoga was my catalyst into deeper spirituality — and for that, I will be forever grateful. I also love the amazing like-minded, high vibe community that yoga provides me with!


What is the most challenging pose for you and why? 

Probably Eka Pada Koundinyasana at the moment, which is also known as One-Legged Sage pose. It requires a ton of upper body and core strength, which are some challenging areas for me that I am working on strengthening. It also requires a lot of balance… it’s always fun to play around with even if I rarely nail it. Yoga is not about nailing poses for me, but it is definitely about challenging myself to improve! 


Who inspires you and why?

SO many people! My mom, who is also my best friend and the most patient person there is. My boyfriend Jonathan, who works harder than anyone I know and is also one of the kindest souls on this earth. Gabby Bernstein and Danielle Laporte for paving the way for bloggers like myself to do big things in this spiritual online space, and anyone who is not afraid to follow their heart and take big risks in order to live in alignment with their truth.


What is your favourite food?

Dark chocolate, all the way! I am addicted to the grocery store Erewhon at the moment, and they have an amazing vegan eggplant lasagna that I am obsessing over right now.


What are you reading at the moment? 

So many books. I am a book junkie for sure. Moonology by Yasmin Boland is a current favorite, as well as You are the Universe by Deepak Chopra. 


What is your favourite Instagram account?

I love @lornajaneactive and @lornajaneus to keep connect with everything Lorna Jane and MNB.

I love following @the_southern_yogi because she is major yoga inspiration for me, and beyond that I love her words and her vibe. She is so authentic and down to earth, and she has been a guest on my podcast!

I also love poetry accounts like @atticuspoetry and @iamhertribe.


What would you like to be known for?

For making spirituality, manifestation and yoga more accessible, for spreading joy and love, and for teaching others that your career can be something you’re totally obsessed and in love with — it just takes a lot of hard work!
