Monday Motivation: The Power of Setting Weekly Intentions

INTENTION-BannerIt’s a concept that we’ve been throwing around a lot here in Lorna Jane land. Setting daily or weekly intentions. To be clear, this isn’t just a spin on the term goal setting; setting a weekly intention is a simple, effective way to find your focus and keep you in that driven, motivated mindset. I find, when you put all of your eggs in one basket, it makes it all the more easier to get things done.

After a whole weekends worth of solitude, I am feeling more inspired than ever to achieve my mile-long list of dreams and aspirations. From my eager adventurer within, setting an intention to save my pennies for an overseas getaway, to creating a home worthy of Real Living status. Whatever is on your to do list, I believe it’s the quick wins that will get you that step closer to self-developing you.

This week, the MNB Team are setting a weekly intention and adopting the SOS method to make it happen.

“I aspire to be conscious with my every action & present in each moment.
To create without fear & love myself unconditionally.”

Fresh off a 2 week cleanse, I have gained a whole new perspective. I have learnt the power to eat mindfully, and harness the natural energy that comes from eating super clean. This week I want to keep up this positive practice, so for me, that means, a week of mindful nourishing, to be present in every moment and to harness this newfound energy to unlock my creativity”.

“I aspire to believe in myself more, to go to sleep earlier and to make healthy lunches to bring to work everyday”

I happen to have a very persistent inner dialogue that is always pointing out to me, all my little faults and flaws. It is quite tiresome and mostly completely inaccurate.

So this week I will make it my conscious intention to recognise when I have a negative thought about myself and then counter it with two positive thoughts. I have a lot to be proud of and I would like to be kinder to myself.

The other two intentions I have for myself this week is to get to bed earlier and to make healthy lunches for work. I usually fail to neglect these two things, and if I could sort these out (along with my negative inner dialogue) then I will be on my way to being one healthier and happier sista!

“To grow my desire to live each day with content and purpose; from work to working out.”

My MNB intention for this week has been set off the back of my longing to understand why I do what I do in all facets of my everyday. From the creative work I produce, to the food I cook and eat, and to the way I move my body. I want to ensure it is all done with great content and satisfaction, and ultimately allowing me to know I am growing, learning and evolving from these choices each day.

I spend a lot of time thinking about how to change my situation to better myself… Or making really great lists of goals and plans. But that’s where it tends to end… with a nicely designed list. My MNB intention is to start really living up to my word. To stop just thinking about what I want to change or do, and start consciously, making decisions and movements that make me follow through…

“I aspire to be fearless and resolute, where all obstacles will melt away before me”

Sometimes it can feel like the world is working against you as much as you strive for the utmost positivity, compassion and strength. This week I welcome all circumstances, all happenings in life, be occasions – constantly renewed for learning more and ever more.

I’ve asked the MNB team to tell me their weekly intention, and now I’m asking you. Grab a permanent marker, a post it note, and share your weekly intention. #MNBINTENTION
