Hi Sporty Sisters,
Another week has been and gone, and how eternally grateful we feel for this fresh start to the week.
How are you feeling?
Inspired. Tired. Optimistic. Excited. Depleted?
Whatever it is you feel…acknowledge it. Take a moment today to think about how you would like to feel for the rest of the week. Make it your focus. Whether it is ensuring the first thing you do in the morning is smile, or if it’s spring-cleaning your inbox so you feel a little less anxious. This is all about making small, consistent efforts and chipping away at it each day.
So, with that in mind, for this Monday Motivation we want to share our weekly roundup of all things to read, create and eat to leave you blessed-out and soulfully connected this coming week. Get ready to greet these coming days with a tank full of optimism, and a ‘conquer-the-world’ type attitude.
Are you ready for it?
INSPIRE: ‘Monday Optimism’
Have you ever noticed the negativity surrounding poor Monday?
There’s name-calling, negative banter and complaints uploaded to Instagram. Call us eternal optimists but we freakin’ love Mondays.
So instead of thinking ugh Monday, as you groggily guzzle back your extra tall long black, slinging negative thoughts here, there and everywhere – why not take a different approach? Think about all the amazing, wonderful things you could create this week. Take a moment, breathe deeply and write down your daily focus. Start each day with a smile on your face, a grateful heart and think about all the wonderful goals you can kick throughout the week. It’s all about perspective.
When you’re in the need of a quick monday pick-me-up, we suggest you visit our idea of happiness here!
C’mon girl, you’ve got this. What’s your weekly focus? ___________________________
Speechless. Mind-blowing. Magical. Goosebumps. Flawless.
These are just some words that spring to mind when reading Spirited.
This eBook by the uber talented Tara Bliss (Such Different Skies) and Rachel MacDonald (In Spaces Between) is an overflowing treasure chest of love. These inspiring individuals have poured their heart and soul into the book, and it shows, oh boy does it show.
Spirited will leave you wanting to go out and start living the life you have always imagined. It will combat that inner critic that lingers in the dark corners of your soul, crush comparison to the curb and all the while lead you to be that girl you were destined to become.

BAKE: Raw Cake
Celebrations at Lorna Jane HQ are always a big deal. It is our chance to love on one another, decorate desk areas like crazy and eat cake… obviously!
Friday farewells were in order to say bon voyage to our darling Bec. Rebecca has been such a shining star in Lorna Jane land and of course, the MNB blogosphere. We celebrated with a picnic in the sun, lots of laughter, fresh Botanica salads, raw mousse, and a quirky raw cake. All of Bec’s favourite things. This special lady and her bright, bubbly nature will surely be missed around the office, and we wish her the world of best wishes as she embarks on the next chapter of MNB adventures.
- 2 cups almonds
- 12 medjool dates
- 1/2cp cacao powder
- 2 Tbsp. coconut oil + extra if needed
Place all ingredients into a food processor and blend until well combined. If mix is too dry and crumbly add extra coconut oil, or if want it to be sweeter, add some raw honey.
Place mix into a lined loaf tin and press down firmly, making sure you also get up the sides of the tin. Place into the freezer until ready to fill.
- 2 cups cashews, soaked 1/2 hour and drained
- 2 overripe bananas
- 1/2 cup cacao powder
- 1 cup thick coconut cream
- 1/3 cup honey
- 200g strawberries
Place all ingredients into a food processor and blend until smooth. Taste to see if needs extra honey.
Chop strawberries and scatter them over the bottom of the base in the loaf tin.
Pour the filling over the top of the strawberries and spread evenly. Make sure there is at least 2cm of space left at the top of the loaf tin for the jelly.
Place into the freezer until the jelly is ready.
- 300g strawberries + extra for decorating
- 1 sachet (10g) powdered gelatine
- 1/3 cup boiling water
In a food processor, blend the strawberries.
Place the boiling water in a cup or bowl, and sprinkle the gelatine evenly over the surface. Stir the gelatine in well with a fork, for a few minutes or until most of the gelatine has dissolved.
Turn the food processor on and pour the gelatine into the puréed strawberries.
Pour the jelly over the top of the cake and set in the fridge for 3-4 hours.
Team MNB hope you have a beautiful week, dreaming, believing & achieving.
