We get the lowdown on one of our feature females for September and discover just how important health and fitness is to one of the busiest leading ladies in Australia. As CEO and founder of Collective Hub magazine, you could say that she knows a thing or two about prioritising and staying organised. Her books are famous for huge emphasis on believing in yourself and you’d be hard pressed to find someone with more courage & conviction. Here’s what Lisa finds most inspiring and why she puts Active Living first.

What drives you every day to do what you do?
To live my best life and empower others to do the same.
How important being fit, healthy and positive to you?
It is my absolute number one not negotiable priority. Without our health we have nothing.
How are you getting involved in Active Nation Day 2016?
I’m beyond excited and humbled to be an ambassador for Active Nation Day. I love nothing more than being outdoors and active every single day – I love to train and push myself hard, be it boxing or stair climbs, but that isn’t for everyone and nor does it have to be. Just as much, I love a session of yoga or a walk along the beach with my dog Benny – all are great feeders of my soul, they help me be present in the moment and add overall happiness to my life. I can’t wait to join Lorna and her amazing team for a sweat sesh in Sydney on September 25th.
Why do you think it’s so important to inspire and empower women to put their health and fitness first?
Unequivocally, health is my number one, not-negotiable priority in life. Staying healthy is the only reason we can all do what we do – and in my life, which is a bit busier these days than it used to be, it is the enabler to live a big, bold life. It can be gone in an instant so I am passionate about doing all I can, in a balanced way, to live a healthy life. I believe we become a better version of ourselves when we are healthy – in mind, body and spirit – and anything becomes possible.
What was your highlight from Lorna Jane shoot day?
Lorna is a dear friend and three years ago, she was part of the very first of my magazine, so it was a lot of fun to flip the tables and be part of hers for Active Nation Day. We always have fun together and this day was no exception. It was also pretty cool that Benny got involved too.
What are your current MNB Intentions?
Move: I will train in some form every single day – walking Benny, barre classes, beach runs, spin classes and a strong weights session are my fave. It clears my mind and makes me feel strong. I listen to deep house music when I train – oddly enough it’s my favourite form of mediation.
Nourish: I will start every day with a green smoothie and incorporate green into every meal.
Believe: I will continue to stay true to my vision and my ‘why’ – ‘being an entrepreneur for entrepreneurs living my life out loud and showing that anything is possible’, saying yes to new adventures and opportunities and living a completely limitless life.
