Here on MNB’s ‘Meet Your Trainer’ series, we’ll introduce your trainers each month so you can get to know a little more about them. 

Introducing your Cardio Trainer for April… Ashley Freeman x

 

 

How long have you been a trainer?

I’ve been a trainer for 6 years.

 

What inspired you to become a trainer?

I’ve been active and physical my whole life, but when I really started to make training, nutrition and wellbeing a priority, I couldn’t believe how much every other aspect of my life began to change.

My motivation, work life, mental health, relationships and vitality all seemed to be enhanced as I was strengthening my body physically.

I was so excited that I wanted to share how I was feeling with as many people as I could. I wanted the people I around me to feel what I had started to feel.

So with that thought, I decided to certify myself and become a personal trainer which has turned out to be the best decision I have ever made.

 

What do you love most about what you do?

What initially got me hooked to this industry was watching women walk into the gym for the first time, and then seeing how their confidence and the way they held themselves changed so quickly.

I believe that as human beings we are made to move, but unfortunately with modern technology and convenience this is something that has become less and less. It is my absolute passion and honour to be a part of people’s journey to connect back with themselves and feel stronger, healthier and more alive than ever before!

 

What excites you the most about the Active Living Program?

I love that the Active Living Program is making fitness and wellbeing accessible to everyone!

And I’m excited to connect with and support so many more people from all over the world smile

 

Fun Fact! 

Before I was a trainer I was a professional dancer! Working all around on contracts including cruise ships!

A protein shake and a banana.

I have a playlist on Spotify called ‘Freezys Ignite’ with all of my favourite workout bangers!

 

Go to motivation: (how do you stay motivated when times are tough)

I think back to the real reason I train. I want my body and mind to be healthy, fit and mobile for the rest of my life.

I recognise that every day my decisions pave the way to my future, and even if I’m not feeling the best, I’ll always do my best to do SOMETHING that will ensure a better tomorrow.

 

 

How do you Move?

I aim to break a sweat every single day! Whether it’s HIIT, weights, a run or some yoga. So long as  I move I know I’m doing the best that I can!

 

How do you Nourish?

Eat a rainbow! I aim to get as many colours on my plate throughout the day as I can.

Shop organic, include quality lean protein, healthy fats and eat mindfully. Every mouthful is fueling you. Every mouthful is medicine.

 

How do you Believe?

Right now I am alive, I am free, I am healthy and I have a roof over my head.

For those reasons alone I am already one of the luckiest people on Earth, and I never want to take that for granted.

I believe in making the most out of every moment smile
