How often do you stop and take the time to appreciate what you have in life?
Well, gratitude is the answer!
Simply put, daily gratitude is about being grateful for what we have, and in turn brightening someone else’s day. It’s about doing the little things that make people feel good; where we give without any expectation of something in return, and value the little things in life that make us smile.
“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”
– Oprah Winfrey
Gratitude has the ability to help grow roots to your feet and allows you to be planted firmly on the ground to solidify a humble spirit. And if you let this happen and start considering all situations wisely with gracious eyes, you will learn to form a heart that is compassionate and forbearing, which sets you up for an attitude of magnitude. Because the thing is, that genuine gratitude ultimately allows you to walk through life in utter appreciation, and what more could one want?
In this life there is so much want, want, want… that sometimes we overlook and forget the precious moments and beautiful blessings that are right under our noses.
Gratitude comes in many different forms. It could be for your neighbour who wheels your recycling bin each week because you forgot, or the man at the coffee shop that has memorised your order (long black, no sugar with a dash of soy). Your loving friends… who you can be silly with & who allow you to be 100% yourself!! Your family… who love you unconditionally, no matter what you do. Your sense of sight… that allows you to witness and experience all of life’s beauty, or your beating heart & working lungs… that gives you the gift of life.
Could you just imagine a world that is filled with gratitude?
People forget that to capture, live and outwork gratitude is a mighty, and powerful thing. It has the ability to mold our attitudes, and make our personal bonds stronger. Gratitude should be the heartbeat of humanity because it encourages us to embody contentment, have praise for others, enables us to embrace a genuine sense of selflessness to people that we encounter.
Practicing something so simple as daily gratitude can ignite a fire within you that inspires you to shape your own thoughts and actions around the positive attributes in your life.
How can you grasp and outwork gratitude in your life?
- It could look like forgiving a friend
- Giving appreciation to your co-workers
- Sending someone you love flowers
- Getting someone a coffee [just because]
- Putting a persons best interests before your own
- Sitting down in your quiet place to just give thanks for good health and everything you have offer this world and all the beautiful things this life has already blessed you with. These simple acts… if done consistently won’t do anything BUT bring goodness into your world and builds an attitude of gratitude… and gives birth to an attitude for magnitude!!!
